Sad

Nature paid a call to our farm on Sunday night. A quoll worked its way into our poultry pens and has completely and utterly destroyed our flock of turkeys and chickens. In the process it has also broken my poultry loving heart.

Thanks for visiting. I will be back in a little bit.

What a shame, so sorry all the birds were killed a real waste. Not sure if you have these but I have used steel lath panels that have held up against all intruders here but then we only have coons, skunks, bob cats and coyotes. I suspect a bear could eventually get in but the noise would alert us.

Tracy, words escape me. All I can say I feel for you in my heart.

Same thing happened to us with a fox a few years back ...we lost everything. Give yourself time to have a break from poultry if you need it ...but bear in mind that this can't beat you and you will be able to go back to it. Hugs xxx

Oh Tracy...........that is terrible news..........I've had foxes in and cleaned out the chookyard and I know how heart breaking it is.........

How do quolls get in?

I know how much you love your feathered friends and you will get some more again.........

My heart goes out to you. We have lost chooks by foxes, but nothing on the scale of your loss. Treasure the memories of their time with you.
